Ms. Galloway
We thought that we would include some more of the Horizon Denison Middle School Salary Schedules for the years 2006 to 2009. Pay particular notice to the $2500.00 that was given to Ms. Galloway in 2008-09.
The bonus just happens to coincide with the same time period when Mr. Akkaya was applying for his green card as the Science Department Head, a position that Ms. Galloway held for several years prior to Mr. Akkaya's arrival at Denison.
In order for Akkaya to apply for the green card there had to be a need for a Science Department head, a need that could not be filled by an American, like for instance Galloway, or any of the other very qualified American teachers that applied for the position.
So despite "allegedly," interviewing qualified American teachers (because by law they were required to advertise the position and interview applicants), they had to "demote" Galloway so that Akkaya could take her place; and coincidentally she received a $2500.00 bonus.
Wow! That's the first time we have ever heard of someone getting demoted and being rewarded for it.
The second point of interest is the fact that despite Sagnak applying for his green card under the Dean of Academics position, he is listed quite prominately as the Director on all 3 salary schedules. And he continued to be listed as Director in all of the Board Minutes (and the Board had to know about it because they signed off on it).
It's a bit confusing because as you can see on salary schedule for 2008-09, Terry Marcus is listed as the Dean of Academics, but on Sagnak's green card application, he states that he is the Dean of Academics. It's like that old television show, "Will the real Dean of Academics please stand up?"
And once again, the custodian is making more than some of the teachers ---
The copies of the salary reports and Sagnak's green card application are all available at the EEOC under the Freedom of Information Act. And by the way, there are also copies of resumes of qualified Science Department Chair and Dean of Academic candidates in the file.
The salary reports, Board Minutes, and Dean of Academics resumes were submitted to the EEOC by Denison's lawyers and are part of the EEOC file.
Don't forget to check out the other blogs regarding Sagnak's "identity" crisis regarding his job title.
And as a post script -- Look at the wide ranges in salaries -- it might be a good case for unionization (the boys really hate that word).
