And sneaky board members...
As stated in previous blogs, the boys hate it when the Americans (or foreigners as they like to refer to the Americans) show up at the school board meetings. They count on their “family time” together so that they can plot without pesky interruptions from people that might actually care about what is going on in their schools (remember – that would be the American tax-funded schools).
So it makes sense when Ali and the boys got wind of the fact that the teachers were going to show up at the board meeting, that they decided to change the date at the last minute to allegedly “accommodate” their schedules (that would be the boys – not the teacher’ schedules). But to their great distress – the teachers made it to the board meeting anyway.
And note how once again – all the board members are Turkish men (what a shocker)!
We will be waiting for the minutes of the board meeting to post, because after all, the board minutes are part of the public information act and we are the public.
And as a side note, what's up with Ali's "red capital letters?" It makes us think that he is trying to announce that he is "A Yo-Yo Puppet." for Gulen.

The quote from the teacher and Ali's email
Here’s a quote from one of the teachers that attended the Board Meeting at the Chicago Math and Science Academy on October 6, 2010, and the teacher brings up some valid points that are very typical of the “Gulen-inspired” school board meetings
“The teachers attended our school board meeting (a board consisting of all men, no community leaders, and no parent representation) and once again tried to extend an invitation with them to end this legal battle. They voted and chose to appeal the NLRB decision anyway unanimously. They were scoffing at us and said in the meeting that we should all be fired!
These men have never been in our school during classes, do not have children at the school, they are not local business leaders and have no reason to be on the board. Who are these people? They believe that the law does not apply to them. They must have a lot to hide.
These are public funds! They were extremely arrogant and irritated that we were there. They refused to answer questions and do not care that our special education students do not have working computers, or supplies! When will this end? This is ridiculous! Who is handing out these funds to these criminals? We are going to continue fighting this offensive travesty that is allowing for precious educational dollars to be taken from the neediest of students!
Please include the fact that the board did not even know that we are a non-selective charter school. They asked why we don't pick smarter kids to enter the school and keep out the lower level students! Some of these guys have been board members for 3 or more years!”

It was originally scheduled to take place on October 7th.
However, due to schedule conflicts of several board members, the date of the meeting has been changed to today so that required number of board members are present to hold a meeting.
This change has been announced on our website accordingly. So, the info on our website is correct. Sorry for the confusion. Below is the latest confirmations that I have from them.
