This blog was posted in 2011, yet the Gulenists are still operating at the same status quo. Give them a run for "OUR" money since we are the the US tax payers that are unknowingly funding their illegal activities.
Fight back --
It's the end of the school year, the time when teachers negotiate their contracts, and interestingly, it is also the busiest time for our website. It seems that the American teachers are getting fed up with the Turks pushing them around. In particular, in the past week, we have had many comments from teachers about what is going on at their schools and "contract negotiations."
Well, technically, it is supposed to be a negotiation, but in fact, it is the Turks telling the Americans to take it or leave it. The teachers tell us that the Turkish administrators are low-balling their salaries for the 2011-12 school year and have essentially told the teachers that if they do not like it -- leave. Oh! sure they would love that -- because then they could bring in more Turkish guys to teach and take their jobs and continue to violate Equal Employment Opportunity Commission laws. And somewhere -- somehow -- when they think about it -- they are supposed to be teaching our kids with the public funding that they are getting from us -- the taxpayers.
We have some advice for the American teachers:
1. Form a union -- they hate that. One of their schools in Pennsylvania did that (Young Scholars of America), and now the teachers do not have to fall victim to their bullying behavior.
2. File EEOC charges against them (they are familiar with that -- they have more than a few of those filed against them).
3. Contact your local newspaper and tell them your concerns (they love publicity).
4. Under the public documents laws, request the teaching salaries and credentials of the Turkish teachers.
5. Contact the sponsoring school agency that is sponsoring your particular charter school.
6. Contact your state's Department of Education and file a complaint against them.
7. Contact your local legislator and express your concerns.
8. Contact the parents of your students and the PTO President and share your concerns.
9. Make a formal complaint with the school board, but make sure that a representative from the sponsoring school district and parents/teachers are present, because as you know, they usually have all Turks (or their friends) on the school board.
10. Most of all -- hang in there, do not let them win-- this is our country, our jobs, our children, our tax payer money, and our right to make a decent wage and to be treated equally and with respect. And if they do not like it -- let them leave...
