Mr. Sagnak!
This website has chronicled the follies of Murat Sagnak, the former Director/Dean of Academics at Horizon Science Academy Denison; and who is now the Director at Horizon Science Academy Dayton Downtown Campus.
To review, after Sagnak did not renew the contracts of two Deans of Students, Catalusci and Gehrlein, he hired their replacements, Ross and Frame. Neither one the replacement Deans held either a current administrator license or teaching license at the time of the interview or offer of employment.
Ross did get a long-term teaching substitute license (preschool to third grade) that was issued on September 19, 2008, after she was hired.
Frame, however, never had any type of licensure.
Sagnak freely admits in his deposition in the Gehrlein case that he does not check references. So we wonder if the parents of all of those kids that are attending Sagnak's schools know that Sagnak considers checking references of teachers and administrators to be a nuisance of sorts.
If Sagnak had bothered to check references, he might have found out that in 1999, Mestophia Frame was accused of sexually harassing college students on a trip to Africa. It only took an Internet search to bring up the public legal documents about the case, and if Sagnak has taken the time, he might have found a more qualified candidate for the position (like the many applicants that applied for positions -- read, "Identity Crises, Part 2.)
Now keep in mind, Frame was not only hired to be one of the disciplinary deans, but likewise, taught "character education." After reading the files that we are posting, we wonder how many parents would have chosen Frame to teach their children "character education," or anything else if they had been given this information.
We take issue with the fact that Sagnak continues to be in a leadership position that involves the education of children, especially since while under his leadership, three discrimation charges have been filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, an internal investigation was conducted regarding teachers' harrassment and validated, a student filed a lawsuit against Sagnak for hitting her with his vehicle, and the Department of Labor began and continues -- an investigation into the school's shady H1-B visa dealings.
And remember, while Sagnak was busy trying to figure out whether he was the Director or Dean of Academics, he hired Marcus Terry to be the Dean of Academics, and then decided to move him to the Dean of Students position when he figured out that he could not have two Deans of Academics (that would have messed up Sagnak's green card application scam).
Ross by the way, was in charge of interviewing the Dean of Academics candidates.
Terry is still working at Horizon as a Dean of Students so we wanted to post his credentials as well.
So if we were a parent or teacher in one of Sagnak's schools, it would seem more than appropriate to demand at the very least -- an explanation of his careless leadership or better yet -- his employment termination (which by the way was requested in 2008).
If an entire nation can kick Mubarak out of Egypt, why is it so hard for parents and teachers to kick Sagnak out of education?
Someone might want to bring that up at the next school board meeting or to Horizon's management company -- Concept Schools.
Be aware that some of the material in Frame's lawsuit is extremely graphic.
